More than 30 years ago, I decided to move from the cosmopolitan city of Utrecht to the peaceful and inspiring Cabo de Gata in southern Spain. My two daughters were born here, and I speak fluent Spanish. Almería is my home.
I currently work as a line producer / production manager / fixer for film, TV, photo, and video productions — a great success in this spectacular setting.
Jessica and I were looking for a location for a Dutch TV series when we ended up in Cuevas de Los Úbedas. We found this beautiful cave house and instantly fell in love with the location, the view, the house, and above all, the peace and quiet.
JESSICA
I’ve lived in the Netherlands for 55 years. I have a big family with 4 sons, 3 daughters-in-law, and 2 granddaughters.
I travel to Spain often, and I run a busy massage practice in Nieuwleusen with many loyal clients.
Entrepreneurship is in my DNA, and together with Aty, I’m diving into this adventure with 300% energy.
In the past, I’ve guided mindfulness retreats and evening sessions in the Netherlands, and our first workshop in September is already fully booked.
This place is perfectly suited for all kinds of retreats.
In 2024, we both immediately saw the endless potential of this fantastic space, and with Jessica’s expertise in renovations and interior design, we transformed Casa Úbedas into a beautiful spot for holidays and retreats. Aty knows the area, the people, and the hidden gems. We’re happy to share our tips.
